ITALIAN VILLA WITH RED TERRACOTTA
The Renaissance on our handmade terracotta.
The Villa Bibbiani estate is located between the hills of the Municipality of Capraia and Limite, in one of the greenest areas of Tuscany. Here in fact the undisputed Sangiovese dominates, skilfully worked in the very innovative wine cellars recently renovated. The Villa dates back to the 16th century and its Renaissance soul shines through in all its large rooms and rich furnishings. So the choice to install an artisanal Terreacotta, with an historical soul as much as the method with which it is made, was a winning one.
The choice fell on 'Cotto Rosso Firenze', in the classic size of Pianella 15x30 cm, whose surface finish 'Vissuto', then manually raw sanded before firing, made the entire flooring, as we say, 'walked' to reproduce a floor as similar as possible to those of a bygone era.
The aesthetic aspect is very important here, as it must accompany, if not completely transport, the entire atmosphere in the past of a Villa full of Historicity. The anti-stain treatment was then carried out using Linseed Oil and Beeswax, thus giving intensity and warmth to the terracotta itself.
The Villa is surrounded by a 20-hectare botanical park designed by Cosimo Ridolfi, a renowned Florentine agronomist, with wooded areas, olive groves and vineyards. The Cellars, the pride of the estate, boast an innovative and cutting-edge production.
Taking part in the renovation of such an important project has honored us!
