Facade projects
single-family house in Biederitz
In the municipality of Biederitz near Magdeburg, Germany, we were once again able to implement a great project using our recyclable and material-healthy wood-based material GCC (German Compact Composite). For the extension of the single-family house, the builders opted for the curtain-type back-ventilated NATUR-FASER-FACADE.
Project data:
- Project: façade system on a single-family house extension.
- Completion: Beginning of 2022
- Total area of facade: 40 m²
- Panel: KARREE 160er and 240er in Ingwer
- Substructure: stainless steel / aluminum
- Corner trim: 40 x 40 mm in Ingwer
- Window reveal: DYNUM decking board in Ingwer
Above all, it was important that the building material be durable, sustainable and healthy. The builders informed themselves in advance on various platforms for architects and planners, about building materials and composites. The advantage over competitors was the color selection and the different widths of the facade panels. So it was relatively easy for the owners and the decision was made in favor of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold certified wood material GCC from megawood®, which can be returned to the material cycle again and again without any loss of quality.
The façade panels do not turn gray or fade like conventional wood, but they still develop individually in terms of color. Exposure to sunlight and weathering changes the color effect, so that after a few months the facade acquires its final, natural and lasting color. Here in Biederitz, too, the facade has already undergone a beautiful color maturation due to sunlight and weathering.
