Under the shade of T-Hide: a charming patio overlooking the Gulf of Trieste
An embrace between design and the sea, where Pratic's T-Hide windows and curtains frame a breathtaking sea view
The sea is the true protagonist in the renovation project of a charming villa overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. Not only for its position right above the coast, but also for its particular configuration, conceived by the design and engineering studio i3Studio of Ronchi dei Legionari (Gorizia), recalling the nautical philosophy, very dear to the hosts, through spaces.
In a stone building from the 1950s in Muggia, the original volumes are combined with contemporary materials and furnishings, resulting in a refined ambience drawing inspiration from the most luxurious yachts. The master suite is located on the lower floor, whereas guests’ rooms are on the upper floors, all of them overlooking the sea. On the middle level of the house, the same awe-inspiring view fills the large patio housing an in-ground pool with sliding deck cover as well as the house’s noble rooms, which like in the very finest boats, develop in a continuous exchange between inside and outside. The living room is slightly positioned backwards to optimize comfort and light intake while projecting the family’s most used rooms towards the coastal scenery: first and foremost, kitchen and dining room can benefit from the completely opening of sliding glass doors, featuring no uprights, and from the shade provided by T-Hide folding arm awning of Pratic.
Along the terraces in front of the living room and the rooms on the first floor, three units of T-Hide awning provide in&outdoor shelter against sunlight and heat also by means of the front valance allowing to soften sun rays intensity, when these get lower. A smart and modern sun shading solution meticulously designed and installed by the seller Casa del Salotto Tendaggi Ceschia, Ronchi dei Legionari that fits seamlessly into the context of the villa.
T-Hide awnings of Pratic can be customized with dimensions ranging from four up to seven meters in length for each unit, to best emphasise contours of the glazed walls and the aesthetics of the building. Hence the choice of grey nuances for the cloth and the aluminium structure, this latter featuring a minimalistic cassette containing the awning once closed, thus preventing the canvas from being damaged due to saltiness and bad weather. Furthermore, their folding arms can be adapted in tensioning and inclination.
Stable and durable, T-Hide’s arms retract automatically in case of wind thanks to the integrated anemometer, thus securing the awning. A single command on the remote control is all it takes to regulate shade, ventilation and temperature according to your needs. Likewise, it is possible to adjust the intensity of LED-lighting, fully integrated into the cassette and the front profile. Lastly, the warm white light finely illuminates the outdoor space, thus creating the ideal ambience to make the most of the patio even after sunset, surrounded by the gentle breeze and the stillness of the sea.
