Safe and Practical Roof Access for Residential Blocks in Tilburg
Stainless steel DL-Series roof hatches with extension ladders ensure safe access for maintenance.
For the innovative residential project Buurtschap te Veld in Eindhoven (NL), Staka supplied five DL147ZZ roof access hatches with extension ladders, commissioned by Van Wijnen Breda B.V. These stainless steel roof hatches (clear size: 1400 × 700 mm) ensure safe and functional access to green roofs for maintenance or inspection.
The retractable ladders are lightweight, easy to use, and can be stored using optional wall brackets. Unique to this setup is the integrated SafeStepSystem, where the ladder’s top rung anchors directly into the hatch upstand, offering:
A stable and secure step to the roof
Clean, professional finish
Quick installation without additional structural supports
Optional lock to prevent removal while in use
Buurtschap te Veld features 101 circular homes made from reusable, low-carbon materials. With green roofs, wooden façades, and all-electric energy systems, it reflects a sustainable future.
Buurtschap te Veld is a unique residential development on the outskirts of Eindhoven.
The project comprises 101 circular homes – 46 ground-level dwellings and 55 apartments – designed to be demountable and relocatable after 30 years. This approach aligns with the ambition to address the housing shortage without placing unnecessary strain on the landscape.
The buildings are constructed using concrete with 60% lower CO₂ emissions. Reusable materials, timber façade cladding, and an all-electric energy system powered by heat pumps and solar panels have been selected. Green roofs, biodiversity-enhancing measures, and a low-traffic layout further support the project's focus on natural living.
