mageba RESTON-POT LIFT-CONTROL lifting and measuring bearings are based on the RESTON-POT bearing. An integrated electronic sensor enables the force carried by the bearing to be measured directly. The bearing, which also features an integrated needle valve, can also be used – together with an external hydraulic pump – to lift the bridge deck as required.

Applications

RESTON-POT LIFT-CONTROL lifting and measuring bearings are used for bridges which might be expected to experience ground settlements, and to satisfy particular demands in building construction. Vertical displacements can be easily and safely compensated using the lifting function of the bearing, saving the need for hydraulic jacks and the insertion and removal of packing plates.

mageba TENSA-GRIP expansion joints are single gap joints for movements of up to 80 mm in the case of type RS, or 100 mm in the case of Type RS-LS. Type RS-LS joints feature so-called “sinus plates” on their surface, which make this increased movement possible and also reduce noise from over-passing traffic by up to 80%. The joints consist of robust steel edge profiles and replaceable elastomeric sealing profiles, which ensure long-lasting watertightness. The drainage of the joints is via the drainage system of the bridge deck.

Applications TENSA-GRIP expansion joints were developed for use in bridges with heavy traffic loading, and can readily meet the challenges of snowploughs and vehicles with exceptionally heavy loads. They can be used in both asphalt and concrete carriageways, and are detailed accordingly.

NEW: steel expansion joint by Mageba

mageba TENSA-MODULAR multiple-gap expansion joints can accommodate movements in every direction and rotations about every axis. They can be used for longitudinal movements of as little as 160 mm, or for very large movements of well over 2,000 mm. The total movement of the bridge deck is divided among a number of individual gaps which are created by horizontal surface beams. The individual gaps are sealed by watertight elastomeric profiles, and surface beam movements are regulated by an elastic control system. The drainage of the joint is via the drainage system of the bridge deck. Type LR-LS joints feature so-called “sinus plates” on their surface, which reduce noise from over-passing traffic by up to 80%.

Applications TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints are used when the movements of a bridge exceed the capacity of a single gap joint. The watertight system, which was invented by mageba several decades ago, is designed on a modular basis and can be tailored to satisfy the specific requirements of almost any structure.
