HANEDA, THE SOFA-NON-SOFA REMINISCENT OF JAPANESE TATAMI AND ITS TUFTED RUGS

MARC SADLER’s new line for Désirée amazed everyone at the 2018 Salone del Mobile

Marc Sadler’s awesome signature collection for Désirée conjured up the Orient at the recent Salone del Mobile. Haneda will certainly leave its mark on the company’s design history.

Designed for moments in pleasant company, the innovative Haneda sofa represents the quintessence of the Désirée philosophy of merging elegance with functionality.

It is a ‘sofa-non-sofa’, that is to say a de-structured system of seating with mobile backrests, an idea that recalls tatami and allows people to sit freely, naturally and comfortably at all times.

Numerous combinations are possible: without losing their functional solidity the different backrests can be placed on a natural ash wood base, which is available with different dimensions.

The Haneda collection also includes a series of fringed rugs in two colours – natural and cord or blue and dark brown – in pure New Zealand wool. The rugs are tufted with a bouclé effect measuring h. 9/12mm.

Dimensions: 180x240cm, 240x240cm, 200x300cm, 300x300cm, 300x400cm, 400x400cm.
