Alix by Désirée selected for the ADI Design Index 2024

Exhibited at the ADI Design Museum in Milan until 17th November, it is entitled to compete for the Compasso d’Oro 2026 award

Modern and sophisticated, essential and striking, the Alix armchair by designers Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez for Désirée has been selected to be part of the ADI Design Index 2024.

This is an annual selection that brings together the best of Italian design, recognising those products that stand out for their quality, innovation and cultural impact, which will be eligible for the ADI Compasso d'Oro Award 2026. Since 1954, the Compasso d'Oro has celebrated design products that reflect Italian excellence and know-how. This award has generated a historic collection that has been declared a “good of national interest,” confirming its fundamental role in promoting Italy's design heritage.

Already winner of the Archiproducts Design Award 2023 in the Furniture category, the Alix armchair is distinguished by the interlacing of the backrest, achieved by the union of leather strips. The motif is inspired by the ‘diamond’ decorations that adorned many of Milan's entrances at the beginning of the 20th century. The thin metal frame supports soft cushions in fabric or leather. The seat cushion is self-supporting, thanks to fibreglass slats embedded in differentiated density polyurethane.
