G.T.DESIGN SIGNS THE GALE HOTEL & RESIDENCE IN MIAMI: SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND HAND-CRAFTED LUXURY FOR REDEFINING EXCELLENCE IN HOSPITALITY
Deanna Comellini's bespoke collections transform the spaces of the new boutique hotel into a sensory experience, blending aesthetics with respect for the environment.
The Gale Hotel & Residence in Miami, recently inaugurated, represents an example of innovative and sustainable luxury interior design. This exclusive boutique hotel was designed by GFO and Arquitectonica and furnished by Urban Robot Associates, with the aim of redefining the standards of green hospitality. The collections by G.T.DESIGN, led by the artistic vision of Deanna Comellini, founder and art director, enrich the shared spaces of the hotel with bespoke solutions crafted to evoke emotions and highlight the beauty of natural and sustainable materials.
Among the selected collections, MeatPacking stands out as a true mosaic of rugs, with each piece telling a unique story. Located in the reception lounge in its recycled hemp version and in the relaxation area in its cotton version, MeatPacking is distinguished by the use of 30-50-year-old rugs that have been upcycled through a process of re-colouring and assemblage. This rug, with its bands of color and stitchings that respect the original patterns, adds a touch of history and authenticity to the spaces, creating a dialogue between the past and the present through the contemporary language of design.
The Luoghi collection was chosen to enrich the meeting room. Made of handwoven wool and hand-painted in Italy, Luoghi is inspired by surfaces aged by time, evoking atmospheres of memory and intimacy in the most exclusive spaces. Wool, a durable and resilient material, gives the rug a timeless charm, perfectly in line with the sophisticated character of the hotel. Guests are immersed in a unique environment where design becomes a sensory experience, a tangible memory for the interiors that welcome them.
To complete the sophisticated interior design of the hotel, we find rugs from the Boom and Rime collections, both chosen to emphasize the connection between nature and architecture. Boom, with its dense and soft wool weave, welcomes a texture of velvety bamboo fibers that create a tactile and enveloping effect. The harmonious contrast between the two materials provides a sense of comfort that invites guests to linger, conveying a feeling of natural and refined well-being.
Finally, Rime, which embellishes the children’s area, evokes the lightness of nature with a design inspired by the delicate shapes of fern leaves, alternating soft, flowing bands of fabric. Designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces, Rime creates a visual and tactile continuity between the environment and the surrounding nature. The collection embodies the spontaneous poetry of nature, a tribute to the imperfect and enchanting beauty of the natural world.
