Overlooking the shores of Lake Bracciano, in the shadow of the majestic medieval castle, stands Vigna Caio Relais & Spa, a place where the story of the territory blends with elite hospitality. At the heart of the property is a refined 1930s villa, restored with a conservative approach that preserved its original charm while enriching it with contemporary design elements. Set within a five-hectare estate, the relais is a peaceful retreat where the lakeside landscape dominates the scene, offering guests breathtaking views between the blue waters of the lake and the lush greenery surrounding it.

In this exceptional setting, the owners wanted to enhance the outdoor restaurant area by transforming a garden terrace into a space that could be enjoyed all year round. The goal was ambitious: to expand the accommodation capacity and welcome not only relais guests but also external visitors, while guaranteeing impeccable gourmet service in an environment protected from the weather without interrupting the beauty of the panorama.

To bring this vision to life, the client turned to KE Contract, a division composed of professionals supporting architects in the management of complex hospitality projects. This collaboration enabled a tailor-made approach, carefully analyzing the architectural features of the villa and the operational needs of high-end dining. KE’s technical expertise proved essential in identifying a solution capable of combining technological efficiency with aesthetics that respectfully dialogue with the historical lines of the building.

The chosen solution was the KE Kedry Skylife bioclimatic pergola awning, a structure that redefines the concept of outdoor comfort. Kedry Skylife’s distinctive feature is its innovative roof with adjustable blades that not only rotate but also retract, allowing precise control of natural light and ventilation. In a location such as Bracciano, this technology makes it possible to enjoy the lake breeze on hot summer days or completely close the roof in case of rain, ensuring continuity of restaurant service.

To harmonize the installation with the 1930s villa, the structure was customized with Classic columns, a stylistic detail with moulded lines that perfectly matches the relais’ neoclassical taste. The chosen finish, refined Matte White 9010, contributes to a light architectural impact, echoing the building’s façades and spreading brightness throughout the outdoor environment.

The immersive experience is completed by the integration of Line Glass panoramic glazing systems. These perimeter glass enclosures, characterized by the absence of vertical profiles, were selected for their ability to disappear visually, eliminating any boundary between the veranda interior and the garden outside. Line Glass systems provide total protection against wind and rain without sacrificing transparency, allowing guests to dine while watching the sunset over the lake in a protected, safe and sophisticated environment.
