FARMHOUSE IN THE SIENA HILLS, ITALY

Hand made terracotta floors and coverings

Immersed in the Sienese hills, there is this wonderful farmhouse with which we have collaborated for the creation of internal and external floors, as well as glazed terracotta coverings.

As tradition dictates, the choice fell on our Cotto Rosato Toscano which, with its light shades, can be easily combined with any context. In fact, the result is a luminous floor, with the characteristic natural nuances of wood cooking. In reproducing a project in which nature and simplicity blend with refinement and elegance, Tuscan terracotta is undoubtedly the most suitable choice.

For the internal flooring, the lived-in finish was chosen, created by wearing the raw product, a process that allows you to obtain a terracotta that looks worn. The format chosen is the classic Pianella 15x30 cm which goes perfectly with the rural context. To complete the internal floor, an Anti-Stain Treatment was then applied which definitively protects the terracotta.

The cladding of the bathroom was made with our Cotto Smaltato, a product glazed by hand, one by one, to create a resistant and completely customized cladding.

On the outside however, while maintaining the choice of Cotto Rosato Toscano, the finish is the Natural one. The customer has here decided to build the solarium of the swimming pool with our terracotta. The quality of the clay and the craftsmanship are essential for the creation of a product resistant to frost and mould, but also naturally non-slip.
