THE ART OF INLAY

St. Petersburg, Russia

The inlay technique was used for the first time in the territories of Asia Minor to embellish the walls of a royal palace, but it was then consolidated thanks to the artistic tradition of decorations that characterize Christian churches. By setting the marble with decorations and designs, floors and furniture can be covered, giving a priceless value to simple coatings or furnishing accessories.

Before carrying out the work, there is a very accurate design phase. These creations are carried out following a specific commission and vary according to the needs of each one. It starts with the choice of the type of marble and the resulting color, in order to create harmony with the designs that will be created later.

Inlay is a decorative technique created to enhance stones and materials of natural origin, and is capable of enhancing the prestige of any building, whether it be a home or a sacred place. At the entrance to this house we created an inlay by selecting marbles of the same color tone. For this design, in fact, Crema Valencia, Brown Emperador, Light Emperador and Bianco Sivec were used. The frame that outlines the perimeter of the atrium, on the other hand, is made of Yellow Travertine.

A floor and a wall covering with inlays or mosaics are transformed into the most exclusive furnishing elements of any environment. You have the opportunity to represent subjects of all kinds: floral, figurative, architectural that become marble paintings on walls and floors, beautiful and material.

The inlay represents the union between art and technology as it is essential to combine the right colors, shades and at the same time the joint must be performed with extreme precision so as not to have any joints. We are equipped with the most innovative technology for making inlays, in fact we have a Waterjet Flow machine with a dynamic head that is also able to make cuts at 45 degrees thanks to an extremely powerful water jet.
