A garden to live in, with the comfort of Opera

In Sarnico, in the province of Bergamo, a majestic villa dating back to the 1990s offers panoramic views of Lake Iseo and the hills surrounding the garden. The recent redesign of the outdoor area and swimming pool has inspired the creation of a new outdoor living space: an area that is independent in form and function from the main architecture, catering to both the everyday life of the owners and the fascinating natural panorama. This idea was implemented by the project of the Mirko Varischi architectural studio and the Tappezzeria Barbieri retailer, which was realized through the original combination of two Opera pergolas by Pratic.
The self-supporting modules of the bioclimatic structure are arranged in a staggered pattern over an area of 9 x 6 meters, creating a varied sequence of spaces and functions: the equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room flow seamlessly into one another, creating the structure and comfort typical of a living space in the outdoor area. The sun protection blades, which can be adjusted up to 140 degrees, provide natural ventilation and precise control of daylight, while integrated rain sensors offer protection even in the event of sudden weather changes, allowing continuous and comfortable use of the outdoor area.
The project is part of a more comprehensive renovation of the villa’s garden and exterior walls. Opera’s light-colored coating, with delicate ecru shades between gray and green, mimics the botanical environment of the house, avoiding strong contrasts and tying in with the colors of the surrounding vegetation. The Raso vertical awnings in Screen fabric and the transparent Slide Glass 60 sliding windows help to protect the rooms from the wind typical of the lakeside without interrupting the direct connection to the outside.
The new area, designed primarily for evening use, is enhanced by a lighting system with white LED lines and spotlights integrated into the blades, both of which can be controlled by remote control. A sophisticated and functional system that creates atmosphere and visual continuity even at night, emphasizing the view of the lake and the cozy character of this second living area. A tailor-made outdoor area where architecture, landscape, and well-being come together under the sign of pure design.
