Unopiù: NANDA

Design by Gio Tirotto

The Nanda outdoor armchair, designed by Gio Tirotto for Unopiù, stands out with its graceful and curved geometric lines that hint at both stability and an elegant suspended lightness. With Nanda, the designer sought to create a versatile project that embraced art, architecture, and design, drawing inspiration from the poetic works of Nanda Vigo, as evidenced by the tribute of the chosen name.

“The project touches upon art thanks to its graphic presence in space, almost as if to enclose it within a period of time. Plastic and sinuous, the seat appears as though suspended, balancing form and function, much like in architecture. The concept is synthesised in the search for an iconic form through the minimal use of material. This is how Nanda creates an enveloping contrast between the evoked imagery and the technical solution with which it is crafted.” Gio Tirotto

Nanda is reminiscent of the bergère, an armchair that has evolved over time from the 18th century to the present day, yet which stands out for its understated and minimalist design that deconstructs its iconic original version, to imbue it with contemporary appeal.

Distinguished by a structure in zinc-plated and welded steel and available in the shades sand or graphite, with technical Batyline fabric, it has been specifically designed for outdoor use, in two different colours: brick or sand.

Easily stackable, with its enveloping lines Nanda ensures a comfortable seat, making it a piece of furniture with a unique and original style that will add a distinctive detail to every outdoor space, and indoors too.
