Outdoor Vertical Garden in Bilbao

Installed on the outer face of the wall of a fronton court, in Plaza Levante, this enormous outdoor vertical garden incorporates an area of 320 m² into the heart of the Deusto neighborhood in Bilbao.

The landscape design, carried out in collaboration with URBASER, incorporates local elements such as trawlers, the cliffs of the Cantabrian coast and local architecture, integrating nature and tradition.

The selection of species has been made according to the different orientations of the wall where it is installed, creating a vertical landscape where more than 8,900 plants of 37 different species are combined, which represents a significant injection into the biodiversity of the neighborhood environment. The garden was inaugurated by the Bilbao City Council at the end of 2015.
