Interior Vertical Garden at DGNB headquarters, (Stuttgart, Germany)

In interior vertical garden projects , it is where the contact between nature and people acquires greater power.

It is indoors where the most interesting effects are also achieved from the point of view of interior design , the improvement of environmental quality and the aesthetic benefits for those who can enjoy it.

In this small vertical garden, designed by Urban Therapy with our indoor Fytotextile® system , and installed by artaqua , in the offices of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) in Stuttgart, this is precisely what is sought and what is get.

The installation of the small green wall of just 5.25 m 2 , as an oasis of nature in the center of the DGNB offices , exploits the flexibility of the Fytotextile® system by adapting to a curved surface, and solves the intersection of interior circulations of a gentle way, enhancing the organic and natural beauty provided by the species used.

In the design, inspired by one of the sections of Van Gogh's work, «the starry night» , has been played with philodendrons scandes, marantas and soleirolias , among other species, generating a smooth transition between the forms and the natural background, that allows the plant element to be included within the architectural space, in a clear nod to what is pursued in the offices where this project is located: the protection of the environment through sustainable practices applied to construction and building.

The vertical garden works with a simple lost solution irrigation system, and all the auxiliary engineering to guarantee its correct irrigation and fertilization is located inside a small technical room at the back of the garden.

Nature inspires us, gives us healthy benefits and brightens our day . In this small example of an interior vertical garden , we believe that all these objectives are resolved, to which a vertical garden should always respond. And you, what do you think?
