acclaimed architect zaha hadid has passed away at the age of 65. the celebrated designer had completed a range of buildings around the globe, and last year became the first female architect to receive RIBA’s royal gold medal. born in baghdad in 1950, hadid studied mathematics at the american university of beirut before enrolling at london’s architectural association in 1972.
